These are GENUINE Victorinox replacements, and are made to fit only SMALL VICTORINOX knives.

This listing is for the SMALL toothpick, which fits ONLY the SMALL KNIVES such as the Classic SD which is 2.25" (58mm) long, and other similar models based on that frame.

It is likewise employed on the more or less not common 74mm models, such as the Executive and the Ambassador.

If you are looking for a alternate for any VICTORINOX knife LARGER than 74mm. -

THIS IS NOT GOING TO FIT!
Look for the LARGE REPLACEMENT TOOTHPICK (or Tweezers, as the same size issues utilise to those as well.)

Excellent substitute for a trustable tool. Old toothpicks either wear down or are lost - and this is the makers replacement.

By A. Kent-Isaac
Maximilian I, Holy Roman Emperor, once said "eine gute Zahnstocher ist wichtig" - in , "it's important to have a good toothpick." Those words, uttered more than five hundred years ago, are still each bit as true as they were on the day they left Maximilian's mouth (which, it bears mentioning, was immaculately maintained - with, you guessed it, a toothpick.)Maximilian had the greatest toothpick collection of the 15th century, including specimens from as far away as India and Iceland. His bestloved toothpick, though, was a gift from the Count of Neuchâtel in Switzerland. It was carved from imported walrus ivory and staged to Maximilian in 1508 upon his assumption of the throne of Holy Roman Emperor - it would stay tucked within his velvet cap until the day he died.

Maximilian, as a fellow member of the House of Habsburg, had sensations or changes of the hereditary mandibular prognathism which that family was known for, including a slight underbite (relatively minor, equated to numerous of the later Holy Roman Emperors.) He from time to time had difficultness chewing, specially in later life, and the diet of roasted meats and seeded fruit which he enjoyed meant that little bits of feed matter many times became lodged amongst his teeth. A lesser would have permitted this to go unchecked, letting his mandibles decay from bits of old and rotten feed rather than rising to the occasion. But Maximilian, who is now and then referred to by historians as "The Last Knight," showed the same valour in the upkeep of his person as he did on the field of battle. He reached for his ivory toothpick, and wielded it like a sword of courage versus the craven horde of gristle and seed husk.

Emperor Maximilian purchased a half-interest in the Wenger corporation of Switzerland in 1511 - at that time, a little family-owned steel firm contracted by the Swiss Army to formulate weapons for it is legendary pike regiments. It was Maximilian's dream to make quality toothpicks available to the popular population, and he took up the banner of this cause with outstanding zeal, entreating Wenger to manufacture inexpensive but lasting picks. The name toothpick is in fact a later corruption of "tooth pike," or "Zahn Hecht" in the introductory German. Walrus ivory was scarce and had to be imported, but the Swiss craftsmen developed a for less method of carving toothpicks from sprucewood and then lacquering them for durability. This was to be the initial Swiss Army toothpick, and it was issued to that nation's soldiers and civilians alike, long before the modern-day utility knife was produced in it is entirety.

This Swiss Army Toothpick Replacement hearkens back to the days of glory and honor that basi saw the innovation of this novel instrument. Though it is now molded in plastic, it is shape and size are nearly identical to those of the original. After half a millennium, that old expression - "eine gute Zahnstocher ist wichtig" - still echoes through the valleys on the voices of angels.
