I just finished reading this book with my 7-yr old son and 5-yr old daughter, reading a few pages each night for the last week. This is one of the best of the Eyewitness Books we've read, and that's saying a lot.

Not only are the pictures gorgeous and interesting, but the text is well-written and easy for the little ones to understand. It likewise covers topics not always covered in general Plant books, such as the history of plant gathering and how botanists study plants.

Some of our bestloved sections include:
How a Plant is Pollinated
Self-Defense
Meat Eaters
Plant Passengers
Living Without Water
The Plant Collectors

I haven't come all over a DK book that didn't spark my interest, but this one gets specially high marks from me. I highly commend it, specially as a home learning resource or for any person wanting to learn more regarding plants in an easy-to-understand format. Five stars.

Good introduction to plants for all those of reading age. Also a good review for those who studied botany too long ago!
