<\div>Amazon. com Renowned global for it is high-quality French timepieces, Cartier proves once again it knows how to craft watches that even Poseidon would jealousy with it is men's Pasha Seatimer Automatic watch. The timepiece is powered by Cartier's own Calibre 049 Swiss-automatic self-winding motion and is water immune to 330 feet. The Cartier Story The name Cartier is synonymous with luxury, quality, and style. Founded in Paris in 1847 by Louis-Francois Cartier, the company became famous global for it is design and production of finelooking jewelry and opulent objets d'art. A royal commission in 1904 made Cartier a provider to Europe's Crowned Heads of State and led England's King Edward VII to describe Louis Cartier, grandson of the founder, as the jeweler of Kings, the King amongst jewellers. By the early 20th century, Cartier had expanded it is collection to include watches. At a time when pocket watches were still considered de rigueur for the distinguished gentleman, Cartier helped popularize the wristwatch, making it a bold fashion statement for men and women as well as a status symbol amidst the well-to-do. Louis Cartier is credited with creating the introductory men's wristwatch, the Santos, in 1904. He produced and named the watch for his client and friend, the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, who necessitated a device that would grant him to read the time without taking his hands off the controls of his airplane. Other classic designs followed, including Cartier's signature timepiece--the Tank--which debuted in 1917 for the duration of the First World War and was inspired by the tough new war machine the Americans introduced to the fighting in Europe. Cartier's original water-resistant watch was named after the Pasha of Marrakesh, who requested that Cartier manufacture watch that he could wear while in his swimming pool and not lose track of time. And while it is known more for it is luxurious design, Cartier is also credited with creating the highly functional deployment folding clasp in 1910, which is now applied by watchmakers around the globe. Modern Cartier watchmakers still base their watch designs on the early fundamental principle formulated by Louis Cartier. Treasured by collectors, Cartier watches are discerned by their impressive potpourri of shapes (round, square, oval, Tank, Tortue and Tonneau), by their particular materials and workmanship, and by their recognizable Cartier aesthetic, an refined and tasteful blend of classic and modern design. |

I have my doubts. By Arnold Kool A couple of months after buying this watch from Amazon.com one of the hands inside the dial fell off (maybe I dropped it)
I took it into the local Cartier merchandiser to get fixed.. A couple of days later I got a call telling me that the technician had opened the watch and ran into that the screws were not "original Cartier" screws. I pressed them for more details but they would not provide anymore.
I was charged $150.00 for the repairs. I did not tell them I purchased it on Amazon.com out of sheer embarrassment. But plainly this raises a ton of red flags as to why this watch purchased NEW on amazon.com would have non original cartier screws? Is it a knock-off? Is it used? Was it purchased new, ripped for parts, and then sent back by another customer? I don't know.
Also, I find the bezel to spun a bit too freely equated to other Cartiers of the same model.. but this might just be me.
So much time had elapsed when I purchased it off Amazon.com that I could not even return it.
Purchase at your own risk.
NOTE: I purchased this item on April 2009. It was sold and shipped by Amazon.com itself:

Great watch, better price! By Jason Eddins This is my second Cartier watch. I also own the Roadster, which is nice and sporty. When adding to my collection, I wanted something rounder and dressier, something that would stand out. I made a great choice with the Pasha Seatimer. As the former review states, it is a heavy watch, but a outstanding size. The combining of the brushed steel sides and band compliment the polished bezel rather nicely. I also went to the Cartier mansion on Fifth Avenue here in NYC to get it sized and they were astounded at how little I had paid for it. Of course, the service was top notch. They even polished my older Roadster at no charge. You can't go faulty with the Seatimer or Cartier. 1 of 1 humans found the following review helpful.
