Richly informative and without apparent effort capable to hold the attention of the modern-day reader while acquainting him with the totally illustrated history of this continuing marvel right up to the present day. A must for magic fanatics and historians alike.

Impressive and very comprehensive book.

This book offers wondrous photos and a look into magic's marvelous history. Also covers the masters of the art today, such as Lance Burton, David Copperfield, and Siegfried & Roy. Highly recommended!

A wonderful, fun book

My grandfather did a few magic tricks for me when I was 4-5 years old. I've been mesmerized by magic and magicians ever since. I do not forget seeing the TV shows, The Art of Magic, on PBS 10 years ago or so. The show was a lot of fun, giving a whirlwind overview of the history of magic, going back to ancient civilizations thru the 1990s. I have been looking for a copy of the associate book for a good deal of years, and was delighted to find it last week on Amazon. I get enjoyment from the history, the pictures, and the stories told by some contemporary magicians. Highly commended for magic fans and collectors.
