It is a good guide but needs to be updated

This book is in all probability the best that you may presently find on SA notwithstanding needs to be modified with phone numbers, prices, and other info since South Africa has changed so much in the past couple of years. Call in front when staying anywhere!

I ordered this book for my boyfriend who is talking regarding visiting Southern African in the future. When the book arrived a few days ago I was impressed as to how elaborated & exact the info was (I am South African and an African travel advisor so was goal to be attained & have experience in this subject). I was, however, more or less dissapointed by the lack of images. Pictures genuinely speak a thousand words and engage a reader so much more...giving them visuals of what to expect.

Overall, this book is outstanding buy for any person wanting to plan a trip to sunny SA. For images, do a google.com search. There are heaps out there!

Lonely Planet South Africa covers it all

I am in a positive manner amazed by the level of detail and professionalism. A unfeigned associate to plan your visit well in front and to keep away from subsequent disappointments. Being now in the planning phase of my trip I just cannot wait to actually visit South Africa in March 2012 as the book brings everything to life.
