About the AuthorKaren Brown begun researching, writing and publishing her initial two titles whilst travelling in France and Britain at the age of nineteen. Karen enlisted the aid of her mother, Clare Brown, a former travel agent (whose experience proved invaluable) and followed up with books on Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Ireland and Germany. June Brown, an English woman, no relation, was recruited to the staff. This gifted Karen Brown trio are solely responsible for the research, writing and production of these guides and personally visit each inn that is included. The company is accordingly on purpose intimate in size, which helps to maintain the quality and consistency of recommendation.

Karen Brown is right on with her recommendations...besides her books being informative & correct, they are beautiful. The painting on the cover depicts the area around Regensberg where you will find the Rote-Rose...the most interesting, beautiful, comfortable place we have had the pleasure of staying. The best travel guide we have encountered when seeking serene, perfective accommodations anywhere.

Excellent book with outstanding practical reviews and tips

These books have been very helpful on our two trips to Europe. I have found each hotel review to be accurate. The writers also give outstanding ideas for side trips and utile maps. You may plan your whole vacation using these books.

If you want to find charming littler hotels in Europe this books is your best bet. If you prefer a more prominent American Style hotel or resort this is not the book for you.
