could be better

I just got a pair of these, upgrading from the old popular smoke colored Solar Shield sunglasses.

The lenses in these upgrades are good: 100% UVA and UVB + polarization gives the world a very slight, comforting shade of green with perfectly no glare or reflections...and they've got a scratch immune coating. They fit over my prescription glasses with room to spare. (I did detect the little side window lenses are not polarized nor are they even optical quality...just an observation, doesn't actually matter.)

I took a star off because, altho Solar Shield fixed the design flaw that let too much light through the bottom of their old flagship sunglasses, they produced a new flaw by shrinking the size of the side "blinders"...Now more light comes through the sides than on the old style.

Finally, the case has been somewhat downgraded. The interior of the new case I got has scarcely any fabric, where the case for my old cheap Solar Shields had a decent layer of micro-fleece (unfortunately, these new sunglasses don't fit in the old case very well)

I tried the amber colored lenses, too...hated them, everything turned an annoying yellow

Brittle arms break easily

I have purchased two pairs of Solar Shield "Fit Over" glasses. The primary pair broke rather effortlessly after just a few weeks - one arm (or "temple" in eyeglasses terminology) snapped midway among the frame and the ear share of the arm. Thinking it was a fluke, I purchased a second pair of Solar Shields. This time an arm snapped while just keeping them in two hands and raising them to my face. Since that pair was ruined too, I cautiously employed light pressure to the other arm and it snapped at the same point - midway to the ear. This is indicatory of very poor quality materials / workmanship. Too bad they break so easily, as they fit well and I had high hopes for them. At $19.99, they when it comes to 10 times as pricey as they ought to be. I am attempting another brand now.

Excellent and inexpensive sunglasses

Sunglasses fit over my huge bifocals perfectly. The tinting is perfect. The glasses are very light, and they look good too.
