Frommer's data is well-written and clear but 228 out of 299 pages deal only with Singapore and this book has no data at all with regards to Sarawak and Sabah, the best places in Malaysia in my opinion. The info on Taman Negara Park and it's activities, such as rafting were scanty and there was no selective information on the islands of the eastern peninsula.

By A
I just purchased this book in anticipation of a trip to Malaysia....so my review is written without having yet been on the trip.

However, this book lacks a heap of basic selective information on Malaysia that I suppose in a travel guide in order to plan a trip, for example, more fleshed out selective information on safety, health, exercise (and more) that is normally found in Frommer's guides and is found in the division on Singapore.

The *ONE* map of Kuala Lumpur is highly inadequate to even find the things brought up in the accompanying text.

And when attempting to figure out what to do with a few extra days from Kuala Lumpur, there is no data on how to get to the sites suggested, nor how long it takes! No web web sites or email addresses listed for the outfitters brought up - perhaps they don't exist, but I doubt it.

There were other inadequacies I brought up in the division on Malaysia as well, but these suffice as examples of why I find this book of poor quality equated to most Frommer's books.

For the introductory time ever, I have to say I am very disappointed in a Frommer's guide.

Other reviews have noted that Malaysia (especially Borneo) is given short shrift. I agree. The Singapore division is helpful, however. In planning our trip we relied on Lonely Planet more for peninsular Malaysia and Borneo.
