Swiss Gold Tea
Serious tea aficionados understand the need for a serious, permanent filter system. The true magic is the 24 Karat gold-plated, scientifically engineered foil filter. The incisively designed openings of the SwissGold® permanent filter hold back only the not wanted solids, while permitting the desirable flavor carriers to pass through for a perfective cup each time. This cone-shaped tea filter is quintessentially designed for mugs, cups and littler teapots. Dishwasher safe black high quality plastic frame with 24 Karat gold-plated foil filter. The lid preserves the fragrance of your tea and serves as a drip catcher.

Very nice, but sorta SMALL... By John S. Fiorino This is a neat little filter, and I mean LITTLE! The cone-part hangs down 2.5" into the cup, and is 1.75" around at the top, tapering down to 1.5" at the bottom. Perfect for a nice little cup of tea; an 8oz cup of tea. My tea drinking is done, I guess, in "mug-size" amounts of +20oz, so this is a bit bitty for me. I purchased a TF 500, now THAT'S more my size. Gonna return this mini one and get another 500!!! Great filters, you bet! 11 of 11 persons found the following review helpful.
Great filter but a bit hard to clean. By Chanda S. Beck I purchased this for my boyfriend for christmas and he loves it and uses it assorted times a day. He loves the lid that keeps the water hot while the tea is steeping and it seems to fit in all sizes of our mugs. His only complaint was because the bottom of the filter is flat and made of plastic, it is harder to clean. If it was slanted or had a little bit of filter on the bottom, you could run water through the bottom to get some if the tea sludge out. Instead you have to dig around with your finger, scrape it for a bit and rinse it a lot. All in all even though he loves it and I may be getting myself one too. 14 of 16 humans found the following review helpful.
Not Quite By Josh Woodward I was looking to add a second tea strainer to my rotation to support take the load off of my old faithful, a big nylon mesh strainer with the same basic design, but a wider bottom. This one was a disappointment. The tea was noticeably weaker because the leaves didn't have as much room to disseminate out. Worse, the narrow throat combined with the plastic cross at the bottom made this in truth tedious to clean out. I couldn't find a cleaning tool that fit inside.
Eventually, the dishwasher jet flipped this upside down, causing the plastic bottom to hit the heating factor for the duration of the drying cycle and melt. I wasn't all that sad to see it go. Look for something with a wider bottom for better flavor and requiring little effort cleaning. See all 29 client reviews... |
