Vic Firth new stainless steel Pump & Grind salt mill features one handed grind action for easy use. Simply press down on the grind mechanism button on top and receive pleasure from your fresh ground salt.
ReviewVic Firth's graceful stainless-steel Pump and Grind salt mill works with just one hand. A huge button on the top of the mill is pushed with the thumb to operate the grinding mechanism, making the mill a snap to grab in order to salt a dish while stirring with the other hand. Producing freshly ground salt ranging from coarse to fine, the grinding mechanism works effortlessly and removes for easy cleaning. Six inches tall and rather slim, the Pump and Grind features a patented observing window for distinguishing the salt mill from it is sameness pepper mill counterpart, and for looking at the level of salt crystals in order to prevent a shortage at a primary moment. Vic Firth salt mills are fitted with nylon mechanisms, while those on the pepper mills are stainless-steel. Vic Firth backs the long-lasting mill with a lifetime guarantee. --Ann Bieri |

I love this salt mill By Mary Ann Rocco I primary purchased a travel size pepper mill and loved being competent to grab with one hand and use it while cooking. I in the end ordered the salt one and glad that I did. I don't care that it doesn't hold alot of salt. It's not like I have to add more salt to it often...more like each 2 or 3 months. I live in California so I guess I don't have issues with the humidity that others have commented on. I lost mine (I have no idea how) and ordering a second one so that says alot. Of course I will find the lost one the day the new one comes in the mail... 16 of 19 persons found the following review helpful.
Best Salt Grinder Ever By D. Fernandez I've being using this product for more than a year. It is easy to use. It's good for humid places and in particular boats.
PROS 1) Maintain the salt free of humidity 2) The salt is grinded into a cloud of tiny grains. The grains are grinded into smallest size than mercantile grinded salt. Looks like salt powder. 3) The acrylic tube let's you know when to refill. 4) The size is perfective for daily use at home. 5) In contrast with battery operated grinder, it's always ready to use, the salt is grinder into powder not big grains, and it's free of moist. 6) The little grains of salt (powder released) is more enjoyably and quickly dissolve in the mouth equated to others salt grinders and general salt. 7) The salt is freed with consistence (quantity and grain size) with each push. It's easy to use for adults with just one hand. Good for occasional used at the kitchen or every day use at the table.
CONS 1) The grinder might be difficult to push by toddlers (which is good in a way since it helps to make them use less salt). 2) After assorted times of falling to the floor (more than ten times in my case), might broke at the acrylic part. 3) The amount of salt storage might be consumed fast by a chef or if you employed more than 100 grams every day (3.5 Ounces). 4) The grinder might stop working if you wet the base by accident. If so, replace the humid salt and it will keep working like new.
PS: I purchased booth the salt and pepper grinder. Both are the same in size and parts. In fact I ended up using the pepper grinder for salt too and it works perfect. 6 of 6 persons found the following review helpful.
Looks better than it is By Jane Good looking and works well, in arid weather. Very little salt comes out when it's humid. The capacity of this mill is small. See all 37 client reviews... |
