Handy tool kit for people who can't (or don't want to) carry a pocket knife By NLee the Engineer I have a Victorinox Swiss Army Classic Pocket Knife attached to my keychain for the past decade, and I may testify to it is quality and durability. Recently I purchased this Victorinox Swisscard Lite Pocket Tool, because: - It may be carried in the wallet (same size as four credit cards stacked together) - It has detachable tools (especially the blade and scissors) - It offers assorted further and added functions (such as LED light and magnifier)
The most normally criticism on this Swisscard tool kit is that: it does not comprise a 'real' knife. In fact, Victrinox calls the detectable blade a 'letter opener' rather of a 'knife'. However, I have no difficulties with the blade, because it is actually longer than that of my Swiss Army Classic pocket knife. See my uploaded picture in the ' Images' section, for a side-by-side comparison among the Swisscard and the Classic Pocket Knife.
The detachable blade is an necessary feature when I'm traveling. Previously I will have to do not forget to remove my pocket knife and make sure it is NOT packed with my carry-on, other than as supposed or expected it will be confiscated by airport security. With this Swisscard tool kit, I just keep the blade at home and carry the rest of the tools with me. By the way, I just tested this for the duration of my most recent trip. Apparently the airport security only has troubles with blades, but scissors are acceptable.
Note that there are two very similar-looking 'Swisscard Lite' available. This one holds a White LED, while the other one (Victorinox Swisscard Lite) holds a Red LED. The white one is more suitable for usual illumination. Just beware that the light is very wimpy. Still, it is handy in case of emergency.
All things considered, this Swisscard Lite is a outstanding item to keep in anyone's briefcase, wallet or purse. I'll be getting more of these as gender-neutral gifts for the coming holiday session. 7 of 8 persons found the following review helpful.
Good wallet sized tool By MsPhotoBug All tools are little and work well specially the scissors. I will focus this review on the new white led. I have a minichamp with the white led. I had hoped this swisscard's white led would have had the same luminance as the minichamp. This is regrettably not so, possibly it is the translucent nature of this swisscard that is reducing the intensity of the little white beam. Please note these white leds' luminance are very weak when equated to photon micro-lights. 10 of 13 people found the following review helpful.
List of features is misleading By Professor M. The list of features for this is misleading. It does NOT have a toothpick. For that you need the regular Victorinox Swiss Army Card or the 125th Anniversary Edition. This does have the vantage of a light, though. And with this card, the container for the scissors does not break, like the one with the regular card. I prefer the 125th Anniversary Edition because I hate the way the moveable scissors holder breaks on the traditionalisti card and I use the toothpick a lot. See all 13 client reviews... |
