Swiss Guards Setting

<\div> Bold styling combines with a classic design in this automatic watch #8928 from Invicta's Pro Diver collection. This sporty yet refined timepiece features a two-tone gold-plated silver-tone stainless steel case, bezel, and bracelet strap. Protected by an anti-reflective solid homogeneous inorgani substance crystal with magnifier, a bright blue dial showcases easy-to-read hands and markers, as well as a date display at three o'clock. Automatic 21-jewel motion is both shock immune and reliable, while water resistance to 200 meters (660 feet) helps versus the elements.

Pro Diver Collection

Plunge into any horizon using the steadfast guidance of the Invicta Pro Diver. Stylishly classic, internal workings are forged with variations of either Swiss chronograph or 21-jewel automatic movements and willingly navigate in depths up to 300 meters. Built with convinced prowess, the fortitude with which these timepieces function makes the Pro Diver the quintessential in performance.

Screw Down Crowns: Many Invicta watches are equipped with a screw down crown to help prevent water infiltration. This is most mutual on our Diver models. In order to adjust the date and/or time on such a watch, you ought to original unscrew the crown before you may gently pull it out to it is introductory or second click stop position. To do this, merely rotate the crown counterclockwise until it springs open. When you have finished setting the watch, the crown will have to then be pushed in and screwed back in tightly. Not doing so will cancel the water resistance of the watch and will void all warranties from the manufacturer. Overall, this routine ought to not require a lot of venture or force.

Automatic Watches

Automatic watches do not operate on batteries. Automatic watches are made up of with regards to 130 or more elements that work together to tell time. Automatic movements mark the passage of time by a series of gear mechanisms, and are wound by the motion of your wrist as you wear it. The gear train then transmits the power to the escapement, which distributes the impulses, turning the remainder wheel. The remainder wheel is the time regulating organ of a mechanical watch, which vibrates on a spiral hairspring. Lengthening or shortening the remainder spring makes the remainder wheel go more quickly or slower to advance or retard the watch. The travel of the remainder wheel from one extreme to the other and back again is called oscillation. Lastly, automatic movements come in dissimilar types, including movements that are Swiss-made, Japanese-made, and more.

Also referred to as self-winding, watches with automatic movements apply kinetic energy, the swinging of your arm, to provide energy to an oscillating rotor to keep the watch ticking. They're considered more satisfying to watch gatherers (horologists) because of the technology artistry that goes into the hundreds of elements that make up the movement. If you do not wear an automatic watch systematically (for regarding 8 to 12 hours a day), you may keep the watch powered with a watch winder (a outstanding gift for collectors).

star50 tpng swiss guards settingBest Dive Watch Value
By Michael Horn
Invicta's 8928 is a two tone model of the dive watch that started it all - the 8926! The watch utilizes 23k gold plate which wears rather well on the crown and bezel - less so on the bracelet for an overall look rivaling the Rolex Submariner. Let's take a tour of this $100 price range diving watch and note the value and style of the timepiece:

Movement

The Citizen Miyota 21 jewel motion rivals Swiss automatic movements for a fraction of the price. If it has any weakness - it is in the little power reserve - losing it's mainspring energy with less than one day off the wrist. IF not worn everyday- it ought to be put on a programmable watch winder or manually wound. The second hand will not "hack" with this movement. A date (complication) window shows at the 3 o'clock position. It must be manually adjusted each February and other 30 day months.

Case

The 43mm (with crown) 316L brushed stainless steel case wears comfortably on the wrist. The case lugs are modestly curved to accomodate wrists of all sizes. The new model (larger) gold plated screw down crown looks elegent as it contrasts the case.

The blue dive bezel - unidirectional 120 clicks around - is scalloped like the Omega Seamaster and is a departure from older model 8928's which flaunted a Rolex like "coin edge" bezel. Under pressure from Rolex it was changed by Invicta two years ago. The blue enamal is vey scratch immune - the numbers more copper color than gold.

The Mineral Glass crystal is scratch immune - but not closely as much as a more desirable sapphire watch face (imprinted only by diamond) which could double the cost of the watch. Mineral glass is less prone to chipping or shattering than a sapphire crystal. The display watchback is also solid homogeneous inorgani substance glass - displaying the undecorated Miyota automatic movement. Mineral glass backs are less likely to cause skin irritation than a stainless steel backed case.

A date magnifier (Cyclops) at the 3 o'clock position carries on the Submariner theme. The gold watch hands contrast terrifically with the Invicta blue dial. The LUME off the watch hands and number positions is modest - both in luminance and longevity as equated to more pricey dive watches. A "winged" Invicta symbol decorates the counter - balanced side of the gold second hand. An elegent "INVICTA" product name is embossed on the left side of the case. The watch is ranked as a Professional Diver 200M (660 feet) water resistant.

Bracelet

The comfortable two tone stainess steel pinned link bracelet is worth the price of the watch. Solid end links, rounded flexible wrist links set off the gold plated center links - all made to look like the Rolex Oyster bracelet. The bracelet's gold center links are the only 23k gold plating prone to scratching. The foldover adaptable double safety clasp uses pins as well. There is no wetsuit deployment clasp as found in more pricey watches.

CONCLUSION

Rated 5 Stars because of value and features, the Invicta 89XX series of Professional Dive Watches has held the company in the forefront of automatic motion watch manufacturers. No one may touch Invicta in the $100 area Pro-diver price range. Fit, finish, design, value and quality can not be beat. This IS the leader in it is class. Those desiring a Swiss made watch with Sapphire crystal and heftier bracelet will have to introductory look at the Invicta 9938 for regarding threetimes the price.

star40 tpng swiss guards settingNice design for a watch at this price, but the motion is junk
By S. Kosloske
It's a outstanding watch for the price. I think I salaried $130 for it. Sure, the swiss 25 jewel motion version is nicer, but I thought I'd try the lower-end 21 jewel. It runs great, keeps good time, and is in all probability one of the best watches you may get for the money. High quality work, very close in look/feel/weight to a R*lex. We'll have to see how the gold plating wears over time, but other than that, it's a outstanding watch.

EDIT: Had to modify my review, the motion has been giving me problems, primary I couldn't quick-set the date, now the hands jump when attempting to set the time, and the second hand stops on me even when it's running.

The case, the band, everything else is top notch for a $150 watch, but the cheap automatic motion genuinely ruins it. In my opinion, get the one with the 25jewel swiss movement, and pay the extra $100. I have to send mine back for a warranty repair, and wish I would have purchased the other one first.

star30 tpng swiss guards settingLove the watch, not the performance
By Thomas H. Canar
I have owned two of this style Invicta Watch, and altho I love the style and appearance, both have had problems. I thought the primary was just a lemon, and though the second is better, both have trouble when you take them off, from time to time just long sufficient to modify clothes or take a shower. Both have stopped working even when I keep them on over night. One vender commended winding the stem before putting them on each day, but all other automatic watches have had sufficient charge to keep on ticking. Perhaps I got spoiled by my primary Seiko, which performed flawlessly for over 25 years.
