a outstanding bottle at a good price
By Johnnycakes
I was a die-hard Nalgene bottle user. I owned at least a dozen of them, and never went anyplace without one. Until recently. With the questions regarding the safety of the plastic they were made from and with recent articles talking about issues with the buildup of germs that are recorded in numerous of these type of containers, I decisive to make a switch. I love the fact that these are made of metal, peculiarly since I have cracked more than one plastic bottle by dropping it or without intention cooking it in the dishwasher. Even the Nalgene bottles do not handle the heat of the dishwashers well, and I have had them start out to get the little spiderweb cracks. Anyway, the metal bottle is tough, light-weight, and is easy to haul around. The 1 liter size, in my opinion, is best suitable for either home/office use or severe backpacking applications. A liter of water may get heavy lugging it around all day. The .6 liter is perfective for humans on the go that want to reduce their use of plastic bottles, but do not want to get weighted down. The metal bottles do well in the dishwasher, even with the little opening. I put it in there to sterilize it after I have cleaned it with the tablets. I likewise soak all my bottles and caps in light bleach water at least once a month...it is indispensable to keep them as clean as possible, since water bottles may grow so galore creepy crawlies. For the people that have complained that the threads are too sharp to drink from, either they need to send them back because they are defective or look at the way they are drinking from them. If you are attempting to suck the water out to the point your lips are pulled into the bottle and are hitting the threads, you are not drinking from them correctly...try less suction and more pouring the water into your mouth. Also, other reviewers said that mold grew on their caps...unless you are leaving the bottles with stagnant water or leaving the caps on when they are damp inside, you must not be growing mold. Mold has to have a warm, damp surroundings to grow. After you clean them, leave the cap off until they are bone arid and then do no tighten the cap all the way down. Better yet, leave the caps off the bottle when they are empty. If you are growing mold, it has not one thing to do with plastic, rubber, or metal...it has to do with the conditions the bottles are being held in.
Overall, these are outstanding items, rugged, light-weight, and help reduce the amount of plastic going into our landfills...personal recommendation, I get the caps with the loop on top, they are so easy to attach to book bags and belt loops that way....

Great water bottle
By Michael Debro
The best container for liquid that I've used. While other no-leak containers always seem to leak, this one does not. I may throw it in my computer bag without a care.
However, since the container is made from aluminum, it transfers heat well. If you put cold water in it, you'll soon have room-temperature water.

great on the inside, but perchance not on the outside
By pezzettino
I love my blue 0.6L Sigg water bottle. It's a outstanding size for carrying around everywhere, and the deep blue color is to die for. It's light. It doesn't retain taste and smells from last month's fruit punch (as my last Nalgene-style bottle did, in spite of repeated washings and bleachings!). I've done everything I may think of to test it for leakage or taste transference, and it has proven itself worthy of my $20 each time. My only worry is with the exterior finish, which is meant to be lasting but perchance isn't. One faceplant on the concrete and my Sigg has a nasty scuff right through the paint on the bottom edge. The product selective information says such scuffs, come by so easily, are likely to invite further harm to the surrounding paint. I'm not overly thrilled with that prediction. Quibble aside, it's a lovely bottle, the loop-top screw cap is very commodious for carrying, and I am convinced that my borrowed textbooks are safe while it's bumping around in my backpack with them. I highly commend Sigg bottles.
